For only $5 more than the basic Cotes du Rhone, the 2019 Cairanne Vieilles Vignes is a wine to seek out. This medium to full-bodied effort revealssexynotes of flowering garrigue on the nose, paired with mixed raspberry and blackberry fruit. The tannins are fine-grained, yielding an almost creamy texture on the midpalate, then add an elegant, silky edge to the long finish.Lovely stuff that should drink well for 5-6 years.
